After earning her degree in Florence, Cristiana Vannini moved to Milan in 1991, as the manager of the Gruppo Targetti Centro di Lighting Design. Between 1992 and 1996, she collaborated with Alessandro Mendini, working primarily on exhibitions and publishing projects. Between 1996 and 2000, she worked on publishing projects with the magazine Domus. She began working independently in 1996. As a designer, she works with companies in the lighting and furniture complement industry and has participated in exhibitions in Italy and abroad. As a planner, she instead works on projects for the recuperation of rural architecture and on interior design for hospitality settings, residences and workplaces. Since 1998, she has been a partner at vc a-vannini + cesaretti, which is dedicated to communication architecture, planning commercial and exhibition spaces, both permanent and temporary, and contributing to the definition of company and institutional identities. Cristiana Vannini is a visiting critic at the Politecnico di Milano, the Scuola Politecnica di Design, the Domus Academy and Lorenzo de’ Medici of Florence. She is a member of IDEA, Associazione Italiana Exhibition Designers.
